My comment:
So what I'm hearing is that if I want to make my story with my nature mage -- who treks around alone in the deep wilderness just because she likes it -- more historical, she's going to be perceived as a massive weirdo.
And if I don't want her to be a massive woods weirdo, I need to make the world less historical and lean into the worldbuilding of what a world full of people with natural magical elements that 'call' to them would be like.
...which I already knew, but it's fun to learn more reasons why.
