Every time I see someone new reacting to this video I'm stuck with how much this couldn't be me.
I'm such a picky eater. I can't force myself to eat something I dislike.
Someone heaping a plate of food I didn't pick is going to result in me eating none of it, not all of it.
It doesn't help my social anxiety at all.
This is one reason -- other than money -- that I barely go to restaurants either, except known "safe" ones. I don't want to insult nobody either. But I can't force myself to eat something I don't like.

This is a joke video but also a really in depth and thoughtful discussion of determining the ethnicity of a character who isn't clearly indicated in canon.
And in determining "means well but made some mistakes" vs malicious stereotyping.
Really enjoyable.

I feel like there's a complicating factor I don't see addressed a lot that... not every darker-skinned character in anime-manga is meant to be black/African? There are darker skinned Japanese people. I was specifically thinking of this about Yoruichi here. I don't know, IS she meant to be black?
If someone was commenting about "black characters" with say, Hattori Heiji, I'd be looking at them funny.
And I have to admit that, frankly, I don't know enough to say exactly what characters are not meant to be black in plenty of cases. But sometimes I wonder if some are getting miss-identified.
Still overall a good video and it's nice to get the perspective.
