Their fricking use of "AI" statistical engines for everything is so frustrating and infuriating, yeah. And combined with the already tired and nonsense idea that animation = automatically "for kids"...
Some people really seem to struggle with the idea that animation is drawing. And that you can draw anything. They don't think all illustrations have to be for children and yet when the art is moving suddenly all they can think of is kid flicks.
Like Disney and saturday morning cartoons get stuck in their brains. But it's like thinking all movies have to be for kids because you're used to Mary Poppins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (and never mind that lots of "kids" stuff is actually "all ages/family" stuff meant for kids AND adults...).
And honestly I'm so exhausted with AI stuff at this point that I'm shooing even anti-ai videos off my youtube feed. I just want to be fricking done with it already. We all know the bubble will burst. It can't NOT burst. The math just doesn't work for all the investment to pay out! I am so tired and want it gone sooner than later.
And in the mean time, I fight back in my small way by making personal, weird art with no statistical engine's help. I even did some more drawing for the comic today, practicing clothing and trying to decide which clothing pieces to use for my character. I'll try to get that posted tonight instead of "sometime in the next week" like my usual. :p
>>Like Disney and saturday morning cartoons get stuck in their brains.<<
Exactly. And the old Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies stuff? It wasn't made for kids, it was made for adults. Much of it is violent. Some is rude, and occasionally downright lewd. Hence why some aren't shown anymore; and because they aren't shown, people don't realize how wide the range used to be.

Yep.

In particular, it's so demanding of electricity and water that there's really no way to scale that up like people want to, when we are already short of both and need to cut way down.
>>I am so tired and want it gone sooner than later.<<
Yeah, me too.

Go you!

That sounds cool.
My project today was offline, outdoors. I dragged more logs behind my log garden to create a holding area for dead leaves. No AI, and no cost except time and labor.
Oh that sounds nice. Outdoor work is so satisfying. Are you making an place for bugs and salamanders and such to nest, or is it meant more as natural compost? Or both.
>> It wasn't made for kids, it was made for adults.
Oh man, the "they made this for KIDS back in the day?" no... I mean. some of it? But a lot was meant for adults! But also it's written in such a way that a lot of the bawdier humor goes over kids' heads. So if you're watching is as a kid, and grow up remembering that funny cartoon you liked. And don't realize unless you go back that wow, you were missing half the humor because it was too adult oriented for you to process.

That and gay, like most Tricksters.

It's pretty once the spring bulbs start blooming at the base, and later I put flowers in the tops. Petunias haven't done so well, but last year's impatiens did better.
Well ...

When people start on that, I usually teach them about hentai until they squick and flee in horror.

Benefits:
* Keep dead leaves contained.
* Make it easier to keep the potting soil in the hollow logs.
* Provide habitat for detritus dwellers. I haven't seen salamanders here but there are plenty of toads, centipedes, insects, etc.
* And I can dig out the compost if I want it.
>>But also it's written in such a way that a lot of the bawdier humor goes over kids' heads.<<
True. But there is a lot of Bugs Bunny in drag.

So much Bugs Bunny drag. I'm given to understand he's considered a genderfluid icon in some circles.
Oh, hollow log pots. That sounds really charming.
