I like picturing the burbling output up above in a city.
A fountain that constantly spits out into a cistern/water tank.

That would be a good way to use it, filling a cistern, so that the intermittent pumping wouldn't slow down usage.

Plus once you get the water up there, you can then use gravity to direct it back down to other places -- even a slight slope will move it around the castle or wherever.

Could even irrigate a garden with it, if you wanted.

Yeah, if you lifted into an irrigation system, or even used that as a spillway from the cistern. The slow flow wouldn't matter, because you could just leave it on.

Pump dumps to a cistern, cistern overflow goes to the garden and the toilet flush system. And if you have enough extra, a decorative water feature.

Drinking water first, then things like wash water. But as long as you don't use toxic soap or anything, you can dump the wash water into a basin that drains into the garden or a filtering bed such as reeds or water irises.

I gotta use some of these ideas in world-building sometime.
I don't have the money and space to make my own house water system. :p
But I can write.

Though my current main project is modern urban, so they're just on the city main.
