Why Fantasy NEEDS More Fantasy Jobs

I never got super far with the idea, but I had a character who existed in a world where humans had been forcefully shoved into the fae realm and now had to live in a world that belonged more to the faeries and boggles than to humans.
After a few generations, there were "exterminators" and "negotiators", whose jobs were to get various sorts of entities either out of places they were infesting, or to find a deal that could work for both the fae and the humans who were both trying to use the space.
I wrote a short scene where my character is arguing with a woman who wants to get damaging fae out of her computer room.
Excerpt:
"You haven't been setting any milk or honey out regularly, have you?" Luke asked the client as he added up the damages on his clipboard. "It doesn't have to be more than once a week, but a regular schedule really decreases minor attacks like this."
The client huffed. "Minor?! I lost half my servers!"
Luke looked up at her. "No injuries or structural damage, and they broke your servers by filling them with gold. I think they actually like you. They're just upset that you haven't been giving them regular meals. Frankly, I'd be relieved that you seem to have a brownie infestation. If you keep them happy, they'll do minor repairs and cleaning around the place in thanks, and they'll keep several of the more malicious types from moving in. But you'll likely want to discuss that with a negotiator if you're thinking about that route."
"I'm thinking I called an exterminator in to exterminate."

Magical switchboard operator. Connecting all magic related communication devices approved by local authorities, keeping them clear of pathing overlaps and transmission decay with a given area.
My reply:
I have a world that really needs a strange example of this.
I set up a 'twins and triplets are psychic with each other" situation. But like, since this is a well known thing in the world, the government uses them as communication systems.
If you have twins congrats,t hey have a guaranteed government job when they're old enough. Sent both twins to different cities and set up a network of places where you go and give you messages to the local communication center, and it passes through the lines of twins until it reaches the right place, and gets written down to be sent to the recipient.
Of course there would be people whose job it was to trace the lines and make sure messages were sent by the most efficient routes to avoid clogging up the system too much.
